Sherry Lynn Canale

Sherry Lynn Canale, 57, of Fernandina Beach, Fla., passed away January 27, 2018.

She was born in Bethlehem, Pa. to the late Richard Davidson Sr. and the late Gloria Poff. She was a high school graduate with some college and a certified nursing assistant certification. She married her husband, Nicholas Canale III, in 1984 in Colorado Springs, Colo. They relocated to Fernandina Beach, where she began working for the Amelia Island Plantation. She worked for The Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island from the time it opened until 2002 when she was no longer able to work. As an active member of the community, she was beloved by all who knew her. She always had an infectious smile on her face that seemed to brighten those around her. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years.

Sherry and her husband of 33 years, Nicholas, tragically passed away together.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Richard Davidson Sr., and mother, Gloria Poff.

She leaves behind her son, Tyler Davidson and wife Laura of Fernandina Beach; her son, Nicholas Canale and wife Danielle of Fort Drum, N.Y.; her brother, Richard Davidson Jr. and companion Colleen Kelley of Walnutpot, Pa.; her brother, Dennis Davidson and wife Minerva of Bath, Pa.; her sister, Robin Connolly and husband Jim of Danielsville, Pa.; and her sister, Donna Davidson of Easton, Pa. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Kyle, Bradley, Lillian, Nicole, Lylah, Victoria and Charles. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Journey Church in Fernandina Beach at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 with Pastor Rick Lee presiding. A reception with the family will immediately follow. A graveside funeral service will be private and held at a different time.
