
Mother Gladys R. Middleton, 95, a pioneer resident of Yulee, Fla., transitioned from this Earthly Home to her Heavenly Home on March 22, 2018 with her family surrounding her.
She attended the public schools of Nassau County and was employed at St. Vincent Hospital as a caregiver and ministered to others including her family. At an early age, she joined Elm Street Church of God under the Christian leadership of Bishop Wallace Sibley. Later in life, she joined The Chester Church of God, where she was one of seven founders and served faithfully until her health failed.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Calvin T. Kellogg (Barbara), Japannah J. Kellogg (Maxine), Rev. Simon Middleton (Dorenda), Gloria Roberts (Kennith), Mary A. McKellum (Lester), S. Gail Grant (Randolph) and Lanarva Morris; siblings, Jerome Richo (Jeanette), Hattie Joseph, Mary E. Thompson (George) and Geraldine Walker; sisters-in-law, Hazel Richo, Delores Richo and Dorothy Richo; 101 grandchildren; 144 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; two godchildren; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Chester Church of God, located at 96984 Blackrock Road in Yulee, between 6 and 8 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018, with funeral services being held at noon Saturday, March 31, 2018, at River of Praise Worship Center, located at 83410 Saint Mark Drive in Yulee.
