Retta Mae Cribb, 92, of Fernandina Beach, Fla., died Thursday March 29, 2018 at Baptist Medical Center Nassau after an extended illness.
She was a native of Bacon County, Ga. but had lived in Fernandina the past 55 years. She was daughter of the late Lum Lewis and Rilla Purvis Lewis and was also preceded in death by two husbands, Wylie Spivey and Tom Lewis; three brothers, Okie, George (GM) and Johnnie Earl Purvis; and a sister, Jackie Green. Retta Mae was a member of the Light House Tabernacle Church in Fernandina Beach.
Survivors include two brothers, Walter Spivey (Virginia) of Fernandina Beach, and Carlos Spivey (Connie) of Yulee, Fla.; three daughters, Leola Truman (Kirk) of Fernandina Beach, Eula Mae Bass (Clovis) of Melbourne, Fla., and Frances Harris of Yulee; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 36 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018 in the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home in Alma, Ga. with Rev. Charles Levitt officiating. Mike Spivey will deliver a eulogy. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 12 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Active pallbearers will be family members.
