Lynne Bankston Coulter, 60, of Tallahassee, Fla., died April 8, 2018 at Big Bend Hospice. For the past six years she had been a resident of Centre Pointe Health and Rehabilitation, where the staff cared for her with great love.
A native of Dublin, Ga., Lynne graduated from Leon High School in 1975. She also attended the old Sealey Elementary and Raa Middle schools. With the exception of the two years she lived and worked as a paralegal on mesothelioma cases in San Francisco, Calif., Lynne lived in Tallahassee, where she worked for Florida Legal Services and for many years for the State of Florida in the Workers Compensation division. She loved music – she played both piano and guitar – and animals, especially her cats, dogs, and horses.
Lynne is survived by her son, Ryan Barrett Coulter of Tallahassee; her parents, Gwen (Mrs. David) Dickson of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and William P. Coulter of St. Simons Island, Ga.; her sister and brother-in-law, Leigh Coulter (David) Beal of Fernandina Beach; a niece and nephew, Sarah Elizabeth (John) Pole of Atlanta, Ga., and David Lee Beal of Auburn, Ala.; and, aunts, uncles and cousins in Florida, Georgia, Virginia, California and British Columbia, Canada.
A memorial service will be held at at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2018 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Tallahassee with the Rev. Dave Killeen of St. John’s officiating. Interment will be at a later date in St. Peter’s Episcopal Historic Cemetery in Fernandina Beach with the Rev. Stephen Mazingo of St. Peter’s Episcopal officiating.
