Shirley Christine Quinn, 85, passed away of natural causes Friday, May 4, 2018 at her home in Fernandina Beach, Fla.

Shirley was born December 25, 1931 in Shirley, Mass. as the youngest of nine children born to James H. and Rosanna (Joy) Wicks, also of Shirley, Mass.

Shirley graduated from Lunenburg High School and attended the University of Massachusetts at North Dartmouth, where she was a straight “A” student. Throughout her adult life Shirley worked for the Town of Lunenburg, Massachusetts Telephone Co., Fitchburg YMCA, Lunenburg Historical Society, Leominster, Mass. and Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Visiting Nurses Association, where she performed various records, accounting and managerial tasks.

In 1973 she met her late and much beloved husband, Francis J. “Frank” Quinn of Fall River, Mass. In 1974 they married and in 1975 they cofounded a steam turbine mechanical engineering firm, Steam-Path Inc., where she served as the vice president and in other corporate positions. Their business thrived both nationally and internationally for almost 40 years before her beloved Frank died in 2012 in Fall River. Shirley assumed the role of president of Steam-Path Solutions until the business closed.

While her greatest joy was her beloved Frank, Shirley also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading, knitting, archaeology, and traveling the world.

Shirley is survived by daughters, Elisabeth “Betsy” Page and her wife, Barbara Upham, of Bellingham, Wash., Nancy Roszell (Page) and her husband, Timothy “Joey” Roszell, of Callahan, Fla., and Mary Lund and her husband, Richard Lund, of Spout Spring, Va.; six grandchildren, Sean McCarthy and wife Erin, Ryan McCarthy and wife Jenifer, Tyler Horne (Roszell) and husband Christopher, Timothy “Timmy” Roszell II, Jason Lund and wife Ngoc, and Jeffery Lund and wife Natasha; and many beloved great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews from both the United States and England.

Shirley was predeceased by husband Francis “Frank” Quinn, daughter Deborah “Debbie” Louise McCarthy (Page) in 2008 in Fernandina Beach, and Francis “Jay” Quinn in 1996 in Fernandina Beach, Florida.

Funeral services will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at 801 Atlantic Ave. in Fernandina Beach at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2018 and will be followed by a reception at Burns Hall. A family burial will follow.

If so desired, the family suggests honoring Shirley C. Quinn by making a donation in her memory to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church or a charitable organization of your choice.
