U.S. Navy Command Chief Master William Lee Belzer Jr.

U.S. Navy Command Chief Master William Lee Belzer Jr., retired, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 at the age of 75.

Chief Belzer moved to Yulee, Fla. 28 years ago from Virginia Beach, Va. He served 31 years with the U.S. Navy from 1959 until 1990. At the time of his retirement he was a Hull Tech, HTCM. He enjoyed fishing and building model trains.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Barbara Belzer of Yulee; a son, William J. Belzer of Yulee; a daughter, Tracy Paugh (Ryan) of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; a stepson, Michael Edenfield; two sisters, Sandra Sikorski and Rosealee Belzer, both of Yulee; his brother, Maurice Belzer of Yulee; three grandchildren, Michael Dippy, Katelyn Paugh and Gary Paugh; and four nieces.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018. Those attending should park in Lane 3 at the National Cemetery’s staging area.

The family will receive friends between 6 and 8 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2018 at Green Pine Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made in Chief Belzer's name to the Wounded Warrior Project by going to the organization’s website at www.woundedwarriorproject.org, or by mail to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517.
