Ollie Ruth Jones, 87, of Fernandina Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully Friday evening, September 7, 2018.
Mrs. Jones was born September 2, 1931 in Towns, Ga. She moved to Nassau County in her teen years from McRea, Ga. and graduated from Yulee High School.
She was a member of Springhill Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a youth group leader. She loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed cooking. She had a beautiful smile and a great personality.
Mrs. Jones was predeceased by her parents and brother and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Jackie Jones of Fernandina Beach; her son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Patty Jones of Yulee, Fla.; sister, Ann Taylor of Fernandina Beach; six grandchildren, Michelle Meeks, Charles Jones, Heather Gossage, Danny Jones, Joey Gossage and Angelina McFall; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Springhill Baptist Church with Rev. Jackie Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.
