It is with a heavy heart we inform you of the passing of our father, David L. Hagel Sr.
Many knew Dave to walk the beaches in the early morning to take a photo or two of the beautiful sunrise to share with his friends on Facebook. Some knew him as the fun-loving guy to share a drink with at Baxter’s. And some came to know of him as “SEDA” Dave as he was a mainstay at SEDA Construction Company and might have sold you the home you live in today. Sadly, he lost his fight that he tried so hard to win and passed away on Thanksgiving while surrounded by family.
The most important people in his life were his two sons, David Jr. and Michael; his daughters-in-law, Michelle and Dawn; and his grandson, Ben. He had also remained very close to his ex-wife and the mother of his sons, Jennifer.
He will be missed by many here in Florida but also in Minnesota, where he is originally from, and leaves behind his sisters, Barbara, Terri and Pat, as well as his brothers, Ron and Rick.
David, you are in our hearts and prayers. We love you and will miss you every day. Rest in Peace.
A memorial will be held in David’s honor at 1 p.m. December 17, 2018 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors, 1305 Atlantic Ave., Fernandina Beach.
