Sheila Gail Beugnet, 70, of Fernandina Beach, Fla., passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2019 at her residence.
Born May 12, 1948 in Fernandina to the late Winston F. and Eugenia E. (Wright) Beugnet, Sheila was a lifelong resident and graduated from Fernandina Beach High School in 1966. While in high school, she was a member of the marching band playing the flute and piccolo.
Sheila was a creative and much beloved English teacher in Nassau County schools, where she molded young minds in the county for her entire career.
She enjoyed plays, trivia, watching old movies and reading.
She was preceded in death by her son, Dylan Conner, who passed away in 1997, and her parents.
She leaves behind her sisters, Sandra Beugnet of Yulee, Fla., Sonya Mitchel of Yulee, and Sylvia Beugnet of St. Marys, Ga. She also leaves behind nephews, Chris Flood and Daniel Beugnet; nieces, Melanie Flood Hresko and Ashley White; one great-nephew and five great-nieces.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019 in the Burgess Chapel at Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors.
