
Agnes “Mickey” Cooner Massey, age 97, of Jacksonville passed away on July 20, 2016 in Fernandina Beach, Florida. Agnes was born in Folkston, Georgia on January 29, 1919 to Pete and Eva Cooner. She married William Randolph Massey on June 20, 1947. They had eight children. Agnes enjoyed spending her time with family, listening to music, and visiting with friends.
Agnes is predeceased by her husband William of 47 years; infant child Little Randolph Massey; a step-daughter, Juanita McClintock; and five siblings Lawrence "Buddy" Cooner, James M. Cooner, Jesse Cooner, Don Lavario, and Beulah "Toots" Knowles.
Survivors include her seven children William J. Massey (spouse Patricia) of Tampa, Florida, Lisa M. Hardy (spouse Jefferson W. of Fernandina Beach, Florida, Ava Massey of Jacksonville, Jennifer L. Massey of Titusville, Joseph E. Massey (spouse Pamela) of Palm Coast, James L. Massey (spouse Karen) of Piedmont, Alabama, and Julie M. Kelsay (spouse Chris) of Jacksonville. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters Ann Shulko (spouse Richard) of Augusta, Georgia and Marge Esposito of Cumberland, Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family recognizes the dedication and loving service provided by Agnes’ caregiver, Kimberly Munday Nance.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at eleven o' clock in the morning at Town and Country Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 29, 2016 from five o'clock to seven o'clock in the evening at the funeral home.
