Walter Ladd Gordon, 67, of Fernandina Beach, Fla., passed away Friday, October 11, 2019 at his home surrounded by love from family and friends.
Born in Fernandina Beach, he was the son of the late Walter Curtis and Elizabeth Haddock Gordon.
He was a member of Fernandina Beach High School’s Class of 1970 and served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve.
For many years, Ladd coached both Little League and senior baseball in Fernandina Beach and Yulee. His love of sports was legendary. An avid Florida fan, from football to baseball, he loved all things “Gators.” He also regularly followed the Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics. He later retired from Container Corporation.
He leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Ann Gordon; his sons, Walter Curtis Gordon and Louis Ross Gordon, both of Yulee; and two grandsons, as well as several extended family members.
Graveside funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Bosque Bello Cemetery. Pastor Katie Harrington officiated.
