
Shirley Amelia Jones, of Yulee, Fla., was called home January 7, 2020.
She was a great and wonderful woman who was married to the late Lonnie Jay Jones for 45 years. She was born December 14, 1945 in Jacksonville, Fla. to Naomi A. Liddell and Noble F. Liddell.
Mrs. Jones was an extremely hard worker, loved the outdoors and her family, and was always a shoulder to lean on. She was a safe place to talk to and cooked wonderful home-cooked meals. From beach trips, fishing, and the mountains, she blessed every inch of earth she walked on and every person she spoke to.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Grayson and Jullian.
She leaves behind four brothers, Walter, Alfred, Buddy, and Stanley; sister, Jessie May; daughter, Rene Jones and Patrick; stepchildren, Lonnie and Judy, Susan and Rick, Cindy and Ronald, and Marilyn and Jim; and grandchildren, Shasta, Tiffany, Cray, Fred, Tabitha, Shannon, Lonnie Daniel and Mallory, Jonathon, Yolanda, and Justin, along with 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2020 at Green Pine Funeral Home in Yulee. Viewing will be at 2 p.m. until the time of the service. She will be laid to rest to be reunited with her late husband in Green Pine Cemetery.
