Mr. James Stevie “Steve” Hyers, 56, of Hephzibah, Ga., passed away at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga., on Aug. 17, 2016.
Born in Fernandina Beach, he was the son of Gaynell Morgan and the late James H. Hyers. He grew up and attended school in Fernandina Beach. Mr. Hyers had worked in the trucking industry for more than 20 years. He worked as the assistant terminal manager at the Estes Trucking Terminal in Jacksonville until being promoted to terminal manager and transferring to the Augusta Terminal in 2013.
Steve leaves behind his wife, Deanna Hyers of Yulee; his mother, Gaynell Morgan of Yulee; two sons, Steven and Dustin Hyers, both of South Carolina; a sister, Faye Shedlock of Anderson, S.C.; and three grandchildren, Emma, Timothy and Thomas.
His wife may be contacted regarding services to be held in Fernandina Beach and Augusta.
