Vannie Augusta Acosta Marden, 61, of Nahunta, Ga., passed away early Sunday morning, Aug. 28, 2016, at her home following an extended illness.
Born in Brewton, Ala., her parents were Van Chanley Acosta and Florence Augusta Hicks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John David Marden, and her daughter, Christine Jeanette Marden.
Vannie worked many years as an LPN, she was a member of Hickox Christian Faith Chapel and loved motorcycle riding, taking care of flowers, and going to the beach, especially Amelia Island.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Misti Marden of Waycross, Ga.; her daughter and son-in-law, Shellie and Robbie Batten, of Blackshear, Ga.; six grandchildren, Christina Branham, John Paul Branham, Marissa Marden, Kandyce Kersey, Amelia Kersey and Madison Kersey; one great-grandchild, Kalynn Jeanette Branham; and her dear friends, Angela Kelly, Donna Guest Rushlow and Debbie Webb.
Visitation was held Tuesday evening, Aug. 30, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 5 p.m. at Hickox Christian Faith Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Allen and the Rev. Jason Marden officiating.
