Mr. Joe Mack Sharpe, 80, of Uvalda, Ga., died Sept. 1, 2016, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, Ga., after a brief illness. He was a native of Uvalda and lived most of his life in Yulee before returning in 2010. While living in Yulee, he worked at Terminal Bag and retired after 38 years of service. He served our country in the United States Army and was Baptist by faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Make and Elizabeth Sharpe; and three brothers, Odel Sharpe, Buddy Sharpe and George Sharpe.
Mr. Sharpe is survived by his wife of 50 years, Frances Sharpe of Uvalda; one son, Raymond Sharpe and wife Kelly of Yulee; four daughters, Joyce Sommers and husband Chris of Sylvania, Ga., Betty Butler and husband Tim of Yulee, Faye Brown and husband Mack of Hazlehurst, Ga., and Lynn Terrell and husband David of Yulee; one sister, Mary Miller of Vidalia; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
