Marilyn Loraine (Corliss) Marchilli, 85, formerly of Georgetown, Mass., and Holiday, Fla., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family of friends Monday, April 17, 2017.

She had been a resident of Fernandina Beach for the last 24 years. She was born in Salem, Mass., on Nov. 1, 1931. She graduated Beverly High School and attended Florida State College. She and her husband owned and operated A.B.A. Secretarial and Printing in Georgetown. After retiring, she pursued her passion in cooking and created Catering Classics by Marilyn in Fernandina.

Marilyn considered her friends her extended family and would love to cook, host parties and keep everyone well-entertained. Her doors were always open to strangers, who quickly became friends. She loved to travel (Thailand and Italy were her favorites!), and her adventurous nature kept her open for new experiences.

Marilyn’s love of her life was her late husband, Raymond Marchilli. She also was preceded in death by her mother, Jeannette (Grenon) Corliss; her father, John Corliss; and her brother, Robert Corliss, who loved to call her “Sissy.”

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Troncoso and her husband, Dr. Eudaldo Troncoso, of Palm Coast; and one grandson, Steven. She is also survived by her two “adopted” sons, Paul Butler and Bryan Burlingame of Fernandina, and a countless number of other “adopted” children, too many to list.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Oxley-Heard Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20, in the Burgess Chapel at Oxley-Heard. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Raymond, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
