Robert “George” Van Dam passed away Monday, April 17, 2017, at his Fernandina Beach home.
Robert was born in Jersey City, N.J., to Leonardus and Helen (Young) Van Dam. Robert served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, lottery scratch-off tickets and making his wife laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta; daughter, Kristina Van Dam and grandson Noah; son, Robert Van Dam; daughter-in-law, Lisa Van Dam and granddaughter Ashleigh; sisters, Margaret and Ria; brothers, Lenny, Arnold, Anthony and Joseph; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Thomas; his sister, Mickey; and his best friend, George Blackmon.
