Vera Lee Baker was born in Fernandina Beach on January 27, 1927, to the late Leon and Florence Holzendorf who preceded her in death. Vera was married to the late John R. Baker, who also preceded her in death in May 2009.
As a young lady she joined Trinity United Methodist Church and was a faithful member until her sickness. She attended Peck High School in Fernandina Beach.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Damion Baker, who passed in 2003. Vera leaves to cherish her memory one son, Bernard Ralph Baker, and daughter-in-law, JoAnn Baker, grandson Derrick Baker, granddaughter Mia Kira Williams, two great-granddaughters, Dasia Chanel and Deanna Jeanette Baker, two great-grandsons, Teddy and Darian Williams, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Vera Baker will be held 11:00 am today, April 29, 2016, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Fernandina Beach.
