Mr. John Page Dysart, 74, of Fernandina Beach, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at his residence.
Born in Nodaway County, Mo., Mr. Dysart was a son of the late Maurice Severs and Alice Elizabeth Dysart. He served in the United States Army and during his service he was stationed in Italy. John moved to Fernandina Beach in 1996, coming from Garden Grove, Calif. After moving to Fernandina Beach, John worked, until his retirement in 2014, as a machinist at Kings Bay Submarine Base. John was an avid gardener and will be remembered for his love of music and just “hanging out and talking to friends.” His Yorkshire terrier, Joey, held a special place in his heart.
John was predeceased by his wife, Suzanne M. Dysart, in 2003. His surviving family includes his daughter, Susan Day, and her husband, Jesse, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; step-children, Vicky Detlefsen of Santa Rosa, Calif., Christy Martin of San Carlos, Calif. and Eric Grandal of Phoenix, Ariz.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Bosque Bello Cemetery, where Mr. Dysart will be laid to rest beside his wife, Suzanne.
