Amelia Frances Dassinger, a native of Fernandina Beach, entered into rest unexpectedly Sunday, July 30, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Amelia Braddock Dassinger. Ms. Dassinger was a longtime massage therapist at Amelia Island Plantation before her retirement.
Her surviving family includes her loving husband of over 50 years, Dr. W. S. Young; a daughter, Karen Young; two sisters, Barbara Dassinger-Hall and Billie D. McKinstry; a brother, Herbert (Cindy) Dassinger; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Ms. Dassinger will be laid to rest at La Flora Mission Crematory. The family is planning a memorial service to be held at a later date.
