Gloria Jean Gowen Jenkins was the only daughter born to Richard A. Gowen Sr. and Mazrine Gowen on November 19, 1957 in Fernandina Beach. The youngest child and baby sister to five older brothers, Gloria Jean attended the public schools of Nassau County, graduating from Fernandina Beach High School in the class of 1975. She passed away on July 17, 2017 in Denver, Colo.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2017 at First Missionary Baptist Church, 22 S. Ninth St., Fernandina Beach. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017 at First Missionary Baptist Church. The funeral cortege will assemble at 10:30 a.m. at the home of her sister-in-law, Beverly Gowen, 618 S. Ninth St., Fernandina Beach.
