Patricia (Pat) Ann Welch, 81 and born Patricia Ann Palmer, joined our Lord on November 3, 2017 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla. after a long illness.
Pat established a private kindergarten, Miss Pat's Playhouse, in Gray, Ga., where she lived for many years and is still remembered by her former pupils. She was a pillar member of Gray United Methodist Church, where she was head of children's ministries and sang in the choir. During the 1980s and 1990s, she established a real estate and brokerage agency, operating primarily in Macon, Ga. and Atlanta, Ga.
She has been active in the local community, serving as an ambassador for the Fernandina Beach Chamber of Commerce and a member of Leadership Nassau alumni. She was a dedicated member of the Amelia Plantation Chapel, serving as a church deacon, and was a member of several Bible studies.
She was devoted to her family and friends, but more importantly, she was a devoted ambassador for our Lord.
Mrs. Welch is survived by her husband, H. Oliver Welch; her four children, Peggy (Tate) Williams, Nancy (Tate) Haskins, Kenneth Tate, and Catherine Tate. She was also the proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at the Amelia Plantation Chapel at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2017.
