
Mallory Wilder slept away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on January 1, 2018.
Born October 6, 1923 in Brunswick, Ga. to Charles Fletcher Wilder and Maude Sequi Wilder, he moved to Nassauville at the age of three and remained a lifelong resident. He was a charter member of the Springhill Baptist Church and later in life was a member of Yulee Baptist Church. He worked for 40 years at Rayonier Advanced Materials as a powerhouse engineer and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian; his son, Donnie Wilder; grandsons, Donald Brown Jr. and Bruce Wilder Jr.; daughter, Carrier Woods; brothers, Joseph Earl, Charles Fletcher Jr., Franke Gerome, Alfred Gorenflo and Kenneth Ray Sr.; sisters, Pearl Elizabeth, Edith Onetta and Maude Oliva.
Mallory is survived by his children, Brenda Groover, Gloria Cook, Clyde Wilder, Bobby Woods (Carrie), Ronnie Wilder (Sandy), Kathy Bennett (Ray), Barry Woods, Carol Harter (Pat), Johnny Wilder (Amy), David Woods (Soozie), Eunice Hickox (Jimmy); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Earl Wilder; sisters, Kathleen May Cox and Bertha Kate “Peaches” Little; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2018 at Springhill Baptist Church, located at 941017 Old Nassauville Road in Fernandina Beach, with the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Wilder Cemetery in Nassauville.
