Clare L. Cleland, 91, of Fernandina Beach, Fla., passed away January 1, 2018 in Carmel, Ind.
Born May 2, 1926 in Galion, Ohio to Lowell H. Cleland and Estelle Powers Cleland, he earned a bachelor of business administration from Michigan State University and worked as vice president of sales for Perfection Coby Manufacturing in Galion, Ohio before retiring. He married Barbara Eib Cleland on September 23, 1950 in Saginaw, Mich., and was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Fernandina Beach.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, in 2015 and by his parents.
He is survived by his children, Jeffrey Cleland of Carmel, Michael Cleland of Bristol, Va., and Sarah Martin of Yulee, Fla.; brothers, James Cleland of Canal Fulton, Ohio, and Edward Cleland of San Francisco, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A family gathering to honor his memory will be held in May 2018 in Saginaw.
