
James Paul “Jim” Ewing Jr., 73, of Fernandina Beach, Fla., passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018, at The Jane Adams House.
He was born November 12, 1944 in Monroe, La. to the late James Paul Ewing Sr., and Yetta Poole Ewing. His family moved to Fernandina Beach, where he graduated from Fernandina Beach High School.
Jim received a football scholarship at the University of Georgia, and after graduating with a bachelor’s degree and serving four years in the United States Air Force, he then went on to receive his master’s degree from Boston University.
After living in Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee pursuing a career in marketing and real estate, he returned to Fernandina Beach to continue in that field until he retired.
Jim’s surviving family members are Dianne Ewing of Bristol, Tenn.; daughter, Kimberly Ewing of Bristol; son, Major Jonathan Ewing and his wife, Beth, of Honolulu, Hawaii; and four grandchildren, Miller, Keaton, Adelaide, and Lorelei.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2018, at Bosque Bello Cemetery, where Jim will be at rest next to his loving parents, Paul and Yetta.
