
Mary Ann Bennett, 67, of Yulee, Fla., lost her battle with cancer on Saturday, December 1, 2018.
She was born June 18, 1951 in Homerville, Ga. to the late Jack E. and Mildred Waldron Griffis.
Mary Ann spent her early years in Homerville, where she attended Clinch County High School. She married Willie Eugene Wilson Jr., and they moved to Yulee in 1974. In her spare time as a homemaker, Mary Ann was also a softball coach for Mary Ann’s Angels Softball Team in Yulee.
She met and married Glenn Bennett in the mid-1990s. Together they enjoyed camping and fishing and were avid NASCAR fans.
Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Willie E. Wilson Jr.; her beloved husband, Glenn D. Bennett; her brother, Jack E. Griffis Jr.; and stepdaughter, Mandy White.
She leaves behind her children, Roger (Lisa) Wilson of Stuart, Fla., Stephanie (Phil) Wilson of Yulee, Robert Wilson of Yulee, and Elizabeth Wilson of Yulee; stepdaughter, Melissa White; stepson, Glenn Bennett Jr.; brother, Terrell Griffis of Atlanta, Ga.; and sisters, Myrtis Crook of Atlanta and Faye (Billy) Higgs of Alabama. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many extended family members.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2018 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard with Rev. Darryl Bellar officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.
