Loving wife and mother, Jessica “Jessie” Gwendoline Carnegie passed away in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., on Friday, November 30, 2018.
Born in England on January 23, 1943, she grew up in London and chose not to follow her family to Australia but rather embarked at the age of 18 on an adventure that had her driving in a deux-chevaux from mainland Europe to India and Tibet, and back, before settling in Switzerland.
In Geneva, she fell in love with Henry Carter Carnegie, setting off on her most defining adventure, which will be remembered for generations to come. Married in 1970, she moved with her husband and daughter, Suzanne, to France to create a loving home for her new family, which welcomed the addition of two sons, Carter and Leslie (each named after their grandfathers).
As a devoted mother and wife, Jessica shared her love of travel, cooking, adventure, literature and passion for life with all who knew her.
Jessica is survived by her husband, Henry; her daughter, Suzanne; her sons, Carter and Leslie; her daughters-in-law, Gwen and Theresa; and son-in-law, Matthieu, as well as four grandchildren, all of whom miss her dearly and lovingly celebrate Jessica’s spirit.
