Wilda Lee DeLille

Wilda Lee DeLille, 83, of Fernandina Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully Thursday morning, March 21, 2019 at Community Hospice & Palliative Care’s Warner Center for Caring in Fernandina Beach, Fla.

She was born in Surrency, Ga. to the late Franklin and Beaulah Lee. The family moved to Fernandina shortly after her birth. She graduated in 1954 from Fernandina High School, where she was homecoming queen, a basketball cheerleader, majorette, and member of Tri-Hi-Y and The Hurricane, the high school newspaper. She retired after 30 years of service as a secretary from the Nassau County School District in 1997.

She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother (Panzy), great-grandmother, and a very special friend to many. She will be terribly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. DeLille was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert (Bob) L. DeLille; her son, Robert (Lee) DeLille; and her siblings, Arley Lee, Troy Lee, William (Bill) Lee, and Charlotte Dukes.

Survivors include her children, Wendy (Mike) Edwards of Yulee, Fla., Wilda (Bill) Silva of Fernandina Beach, and Roby DeLille of Kingsland, Ga.; her nine grandchildren, Vinse (Jess) Edwards of Fayetteville, N.C., Christopher (Dixie) Edwards of Louisville, Ky., Shane Silva of Fernandina Beach, Blakelee (Chris) Jones of Orange Park, Fla., Leela (Nathanael) Austin of Kingsland, Ga., Robyn DeLille of Kingsland, Ga., Angel (Steven) Sharpe of Blackshear, Ga., Lindsey DeLille of Fernandina Beach, and Bridgette DeLille of Fernandina Beach; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the First Assembly of God Church, located at 302 S. 14th St. in Fernandina Beach.
