Betsy R. Ryan, 85, of Yulee, Fla., passed away September 10, 2019 in Fernandina Beach, Fla.
She was born April 23, 1934 in Sabama Grande, Puerto Rico and lived in Ocala, Fla. for 25 years before moving to Yulee two months ago.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church in Ocala.
Mrs. Ryan loved teaching. When teaching in Puerto Rico, she taught English as a Second Language. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings, sewing, embroidery, cooking, and traveling.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Joseph Ryan, and a sister, Emineth Boyd.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Eric D. and Xiomara Ryan and Stephen V. and Lynette Ryan; her daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Wayne Harrell; a brother, Angel V. Rodriquez; two sisters, Aurora Rodgriquez and Mirtea Rodriguez; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Green Pine Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2019 at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
