
Mrs. Gilbertha Alice Van Den Eynde, 86, of Yulee, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, at Baptist Medical Center – Nassau.
Born in Detroit, she was the only child born to the late George Joseph Van Den Eynde and Mariette Lissette Cobbaert. When she was a young child, her family moved to Belgium, where she lived until returning to the United States in 1992. After returning to the U.S., she resided with her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Walravens, who passed away in 1968.
Mrs. Van Den Eynde leaves behind a son, Edward Walravens and his spouse, Martine Van Thillo, from Belgium; a daughter, Muriel Walravens-Couch of Yulee; five grandchildren, Veronique DeBlock and her spouse, Simon, Laura Walravens, Laura Van Thillo, Sean Myers, a former member of the U.S. Marine Corps, and his spouse, Megan, and Kevin Couch, who is presently serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Carl Vinson, and Jessica Devos, his fiancée serving in the U.S. Navy; six great-grandchildren, Noah, Martin, Jordan, Micah, Isaiah and Brenden; other family members, Loucy and Guy Pelsmaecker; and a godchild, Florence Pelsmaecker.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard with Deacon Art Treadwell of St. Michael Catholic Church officiating.
Her family received friends at the funeral home until the hour of service.
