Ernest J. "Ernie" Millan, 47, of Fernandina Beach, Fla., passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020.
He was born in Jacksonville, Fla. to Ernest Howard and Gwendolyn Naomi (Ray) Millan and lived in Fernandina Beach most of his life. Ernie graduated from Fernandina Beach High School in 1990 and was employed as a lab technician at WestRock. He was a longtime member of the United Steel Workers Union and was a nationally recognized and ranked motocross racer.
He leaves behind his parents, Ernie and Gwen Millan Sr. of Yulee, Fla.; children, Brooke Millan of Fernandina Beach, Conner Millan of Fernandina Beach, Addison Millan of Yulee, and Alyssa Jose of Athens, Ga.; sisters, Kim (Roger) Ebmeier of Yulee, Tina (Mark) Humphries of Kingsland, Ga., Patty (Mike) Ellington of Yulee, and Katrina (Allen) Flannery of Yulee; several nieces and nephews and two great-nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2020 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors with Pastor Darryl Bellar officiating. His family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the funeral home.
