
Mrs. Margaret Cook Comrie passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday morning, April 5, 2016 at the Warner Center for Caring at Baptist Nassau. Mrs. Comrie was 95 years old and was born in Springfield, MA. She was the daughter of Frank Edward Cook and Marion Abbe Cook. In her youth she grew up in Enfield, CT and Woods Hole, MA. She attended the University of Connecticut. She was a long time resident of New Canaan, CT, was active in transcribing books for blind children into Braille and worked with other charitable groups in the community. Mrs. Comrie was an avid gardener both at her homes in CT and FL. She enjoyed tennis and skiing for many years after her college years and skied the mountains of New England, Colorado and Europe.
She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Allan Comrie, her son, Bruce and his wife, Regina Comrie of Amelia Island, a daughter, Susan Buff of Charlotte, NC, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Amelia Plantation Chapel where Mrs. Comrie had been a longtime member.
