Mary Kathryn (Katie) Dresser

Mary Kathryn (Katie) Dresser, of Pensacola, Fla., passed peacefully after a long illness on Monday, January 1, 2018 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla.
Katie, as she was known to her family and friends, was born February 6, 1954 in San Diego, Calif. to Gloria Dunn Dresser and Kenneth Howard Dresser.
Katie grew up in Mobile, Ala., where she attended St. Mary's Catholic grade school and graduated from Murphy High School in 1972. Katie followed her older brother Jim and his family to Germany, where she worked for the Boy Scouts of America International for many years before transferring with the BSoA back to Mobile. Katie moved to Fernandina in 1983 and worked with Dr. Castillo for several years at Nassau General Hospital before being hired by Watkins Engineering Company. Katie traveled extensively with Watkins while based in Pensacola until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by both her parents.
Katie is survived by her siblings, James O. Dresser (Janet), Charlotte D. Bowling (Mike), Carey P. Dresser (Kerry) and Molly D. Daniels; half-brother, Kenneth E. Dresser; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many cousins and friends.
A private memorial will be held by the immediate family at a future date.
