Cynthia Davis-Scipio was born February 29, 1960, in Fernandina Beach, Florida. She was the fourth child of the late Granderson Davis Sr. and Cora Davis. Also preceding her in death was one brother, Ryan Davis. Having been embraced by a Christian family, Cindy’s spiritual foundation was formed at an early age within the First Baptist Church of Yulee, Florida.
Cindy’s early education came by way of the Nassau County Public School System. She graduated from Fernandina Beach High School in 1978. She attended Concorde Institute as a certified nursing assistant (CNA).
Cindy and Gary Scipio of Kings Ferry, Georgia, were united in Holy matrimony on May 8, 1996. They were happily married for 20 wonderful years. Their marriage was indeed a blessing and a testimony to their bond and faith in God.
Cindy was employed by Quality Health Nursing Home, Osprey Village Assisted Living Facility and Jane Adams Assisted Living/Nursing Home as a CNA and Fresenius Medical Care as a Dialysis Technician. After her employment, Cindy served as a volunteer at Jane Adams. During her tenure, she was known to be a very devoted employee to her patients. She prayed with them and brought them home with her from time to time to share a meal. She took them shopping and to church.
Cindy was a devoted member of Elm Street Church of God. She served in various capacities to include (but not limited to) usher, member of the choir, she participated in retreats and spoke at various church functions. She was a vacation bible school teacher; she worked on the missionary society and women’s ministry. In addition, Cindy was an intercessory prayer warrior. Bottom line (to quote her church family), “Cindy basically did anything that was asked of her.”
Cindy was known by many as a warm, caring, God-fearing woman. She loved the Lord, her Pastor, her church and her family. Cindy never met a stranger. She was seen as a social butterfly, always visiting her family, friends and church members. She loved to cook and share her meals with others. She embraced every opportunity to extend herself to others by opening not only her heart but her home.
