Jeffery W. Rowland, 47, of Fernandina Beach, Fla., passed away at his home Saturday, June 9, 2018, after a lengthy illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Fernandina Beach, Jeffery was a son of Joy McKendree Lowe and attended the local schools. As he grew up here, he developed his love of carpentry and his sense of craftsmanship. Jeffery was a well-known and respected master craftsman and stained glass artist. Jeffery’s love of his craft meant more to those he served than just “good work.”
Here is part of what has been said about him: “It was always Jeffery to our rescue. Down the driveway he came again and again, our hero in his truck pulling his van full of tools. Five Points Woodworks has been part of our lives as long as we have lived here. Our newly built home eleven years ago still needed a lot of work. It was Jeffery to the rescue. By the time he finished the walls, woodwork and floors, we had a home. Over the years he helped us maintain it. We would call on no one else. We trusted only him. He knew what to do when the hurricanes threatened, when the floods came, when the floors got damaged and when renovation needed to be done. What seemed like a crisis to us was easily repairable to him. He not only fixed our home, he eased our anxieties. He had a way of inspiring confidence that everything would be OK, and because he was there, it WAS ok. Jeffery, our extraordinary friend and superb craftsman always came to our rescue. We loved him and will miss him dearly.”
Jeffery is survived by his wife, Janan Rowland; son, Storm Rowland; his mother, Joy Lowe of Fernandina Beach; his brother and sister, Billy and Angela Rowland, both of Fernandina Beach; as well as several other extended family members.
