
William Hilliard "Tater" Polk, 73, of Yulee, Fla., went to his eternal home Friday morning, June 14, 2019.
Tater was born January 18, 1946 in Pee Dee, S.C. and moved to Yulee in 1957. He retired from Millwright Local 2411 and was a member of Community Baptist Church.
Tater enjoyed boating, fishing and gardening. He was a Florida Gator fan and also enjoyed watching college football and NASCAR racing.
He was predeceased by his parents, John Lee Polk and Rosella Nolan Polk; sons, Terry Keene and Gary Keene; granddaughter, Cari Woods; brothers, Lonnie Polk and J. L. Polk; and his brother-in-law, Marlon Crosby.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Doris Juanita Polk; son, Stanley "Buddy" Keene; daughters, Judy Sanders (Hoyt), Teresa Crosby, and Sandra Vearil (Wayne); three sisters, Betty Polk, Ann Polk, and Jean Smith; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019. Viewing will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in Pineview Cemetery in Folkston, Ga.
